Nursing Home Entertainment

At nursing homes, Cara offers upbeat and interactive themed singalongs with large print songbooks. She engages the residents by having them participate in her show, rather than just watching her play.

Her themed shows are:

  • Irish Singalongs (includes Danny Boy, When Irish Eyes are Smiling, Irish Lullaby)

  • Oldies Mix from the 20s-60s (includes Pretty Baby, FIve Foot Two Eyes of Blue, and Moon River)

  • Love Songs Singalongs (includes Let Me Call You Sweetheart, That's Amore)

  • Patriotic Singalongs (includes America the Beautiful, Anchors Aweigh, Yankee Doodle)

  • Christmas Singalongs (includes both traditional Carols and popular Christmas songs)

She has played at many skilled nursing, assisted living, dementia care, and independent living facilities in the Greater Pittsburgh Area.

Cara also has played background music for candlelight dinners, happy hours, birthday parties, picnics, and special events. She plays a mix of easy listening background music including classical, oldies, show tunes, and more.

Strolling Flute Music

Cara is available for hire as a strolling flute player. Strolling musicians play as they walk around multiple rooms or hallways. This kind of musician is hard to find and in high demand. Cara has played strolling flute music regularly since 2017 in nursing homes throughout the residents' hallways, so they are able to enjoy music from the comfort of their rooms. This is very useful in Rehab and skilled nursing facilities, where the residents are too tired or sick to leave their rooms. Cara also plays strolling flute music throughout the dining room during lunches and dinners.

Click here to watch Cara play strolling flute at Harmony Physical Rehabilitation in Monroeville, where she is hired regularly to play strolling flute up and down the residents' hallways, which they can relax and listen to after a long day of physical therapy.

Wedding Ceremonies and cocktail hours

Cara has played for many wedding ceremonies and cocktail hours. She always take requests beforehand in order to provide a personalized playlist for the happy couple's special day. She can play the traditional Bridal Chorus or Canon in D down the aisle, or a special song dear to the heart of the couple getting married.

Cara can play either the flute or piano for weddings.

Funeral Services and Background Music

Cara provides the grieving family an atmosphere of comfort by playing soothing music to ease their pain. She has played for both viewings and memorial services. Appropriate funeral songs she plays are Amazing Grace, Ave Maria, Danny Boy, and It is Well with My Soul.

Corporate and Special Events

"Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, a charm to sadness, gaiety and life to everything; It is the essence of order and lends to all that is good, just, and beautiful.”
